12/7/2017 0 Comments November & December 2017Here's what's been happening! Art - All G-T art students from Dedham and Center Drive Schools traveled to the Colby College Museum of Art in early November. Students toured the museum with a docent, looking at the symbolism in several works created during and after the American Civil War. There was time to sketch in the gallery; each student chose a painting, and sketched from that painting. We had a hands-on workshop in "assemblages" with the theme of justice/injustice. Students brought their assemblages home with them. Thanks to parents, chaperones, and administrators for supporting this field trip! There are photos in the gallery section of this website. Music - Students have set their own musicianship goals, and are working hard to achieve them. Academic G-T - Each student has received an individual report of this trimester's activities. Reports should have gone home with their report cards on 12/8/17. Fifth grade finished researching Trumpeter Swans; sixth grade finished bridges and are beginning a unit on space; seventh grade finished a unit on Medieval times in Europe, culminating with an extra-credit project to share with their social studies class. If parents did not received their child's Trimester 1 report, please email me and I'll send another. Happy holidays to you and Happy New Year!
